This story is proof that cooking can lead to murder – and Hugo, the rather pompous famous chef, really had it coming. He’s been so mean to his colleagues and pupils for so long that it’s no wonder he ends up stabbed one day after a cooking class. Lucy, who together with her sister Chantelle held the class, is shocked, though; she’s a sensitive soul and people say she’s psychic. And somehow she feels she’s just got to find Hugo’s murderer, even though he wasn’t a nice man at all.There are quite some suspects: Lauren, an old acquaintance of Hugo’s who’d always been treated especially mean by him because he saw that she actually was more talented than him; Sophia, the owner of the cooking school, who was his rival in creating and selling dessert sauces; and Georgina, who thanks to Hugo’s demise got his role in a TV cooking programme.
Strange things happen during the next days, evidence disappears and the murder weapon turns up; at the same time, Lucy has strange dreams and visions about how Hugo was killed, but she can’t make out who’s the murderer...
An entertaining cosy bakery mystery (with the recipe for Lucy’s famous macarons added, too), with an unusual touch: instead of just investigating and trying to put the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together, like most amateur detectives do, Lucy can also call on her psychic abilities to help her solve the crime! An intriguing read indeed, short and crisp and sweet.

I enjoyed reading this book. The plot has twists to keep you guessing. Lucy is an interesting character. She is unsure about her psychic ability and yet tries to help the police. The way it ends is very abrupt and with questions

Cindy has done it again! Lucy and Chantelle and macaroons and of course Murder! It was good believable characters and a plot that surprised!
Cindy Bell is a good cozy mystery author! Good subject matter and interesting characters. Books are neither too short or too long. Relaxing easy read!
Lucy & Chantelle are sisters who are teaching a class on how to make macarons at a cooking school, owned by Sophia, with other teachers, one quite famous. They get to meet Hugo wsho has a large ego & means words for people he meets.
Their class ends & went well. Lucy forgot her handbag in the school & goes back in to retrieve it. She hers awful scream...help me, please help me. She follows the screams, to find Sophia by a pantry, shaking & crying on the phone with the police. Hugo is dead & was murdered.
Lucy has an inner sense, which she doesn't like to talk about it. She's quite insecure about her abilities in life. But she wants to find out who killed Hugo & why.
There is so much more to this book. Someone she seems to like a lot, Jack. But she keeps him at an arms length. There is danger too. Will she find out who the murder is live to tell about it?
It's a good read so much more that happens. Enjoy this cozy mystery.
